From Picture Book, Leek

We are a general bookshop in a small market town, with much of our turnover coming from special orders. For over 20 years we have also specialised in bird books and local history books of our area. We have made attempts at websites but the imput of time and expertise has always been against us. With TBP we are now free to go where we have been trying to go for 20 years! Firstly, we can confidently take orders for all wholesaler held books knowing that the stock figure we see on screen is at least 95% correct The customer therefore has a 95% chance of the book in 2 days if not sooner. Secondly we are now available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to customers online. The effect on our specialist service for bird books has been a 4 fold increase in turnover over the past year from a base that has been static for years. Beyond this we have hopes that one day TBP will allow us to meet a long term ambition to be part of a group of like-minded bookshops, perhaps even with an identifiable logo, bags and signs and a shared service ethic!

Dear Dave
Thank you very much for coming to see us on Friday 4th March and for your excellent demonstration of our new website. I would like to say how delighted I am. Not only was it exactly as I had hoped, but the extra functionality will be extremely useful.
The manual from Fran will be valuable to my staff and I think that it is pitched at precisely the right level.
The admin site is easy to use and quite intuitive. It provides all the facilities I need for managing customers, orders and the overall look of the site. It’s clear that a great deal of thought and understanding has gone into it.
Please pass on my thanks to Fran.

Yours Sincerely

Mark

Subject: TBP.Direct - wish list?
To Book Partnership
I'm a user of the News From Nowhere web mail order service which from the site looks like it is developed by TBP.Direct. It is good - it means I can combine my internet shopping with the means to buy locally; perfect! I'm keen to support local bookshops. What would make the service complete, from my point of view, would be if the site had a Wish List facility. I have one of these set up in Amazon and it does get used; it would be great if that too could be transferred to the local shop. Have you any plans to develop that facility and integrate it into existing sites? Just a thought!
cheers

Hello Dave
As per our conversation on Saturday morning re the web site for Fred Wades.
Just to reiterate my original comments to yourself, that I found the web site extremely 'user friendly' and very easy to use. I was looking for a specific range of books for my young son and found the information given, the links and especially the advanced search very useful.
I looked at various subjects e.g. children's and educational and the Humanities pages and found the information easy to use and helpful and in fact more than enough information (this is a good thing)on the subject required.
I think if you are new to using the internet and searching for books, which can sometimes be a minefield in itself this website will prompt you to find what you are looking for in quite easily.
As I said on Saturday I believe in saying if something is good, I don't think we do enough of it these days!! I hope the comments are useful to you and as I have now put the website in my favourites will keep looking for future additions to what is already I feel a good site!
Regards
Deborah Holmes
